Having a ball
Holts and the NBA All-Star weekend played well together
Holt Renfrew Bloor Street sprang to life at the most playful party to celebrate the “Spring All Together” at Holts’ spring campaign. The inspiration you ask? Toronto’s turn at presenting the NBA All-Star Game weekend and to say that guests had a “ball” would be an understatement!
Guests mixed it up with stars of the Holts’ campaign, including Edmonton native Cory Joseph of the Raptors and musician Calvin Love, who gave a surprise performance from inside a massive ball pit. ( Remember as a child the ball pit you used to dive into with reckless abandon?) All night long, playful patrons jumped into the mess of balls, taking selfies and bringing out their inner child. Holts had enlisted “ball boys” to keep the 26,000 play balls contained in the pit, but about an hour into the party they had to give up — so many scenesters dove in for their moment that balls were
everywhere, taking on a life of their own!
“All t ogether at Holts celebrates the Holt Renfrew experience — our commitment to extraordinary and fun moments,” said Alison Simpson, SVP Marketing & Customer Experience at Holt Renfrew “For the spring campaign, we were inspired by the freshness of the season, with our amazing customers, and ambassadors of Canadian style. There is energy to the campaign that was brought to life, with our giant ball pit, life- size colouring walls, our very own Holts cheerleaders and so much more. We love kicking off the season by having fun with our customers!” Some of that fun was certainly taken to the next level by the dance troupe from Jade’s Hip Hop Academy. The girls surprised the crowd with their first performance as they appeared at first to be guests colouring at the giant colouring wall with everyone else and then they broke out into their first routine of the night! It was slammin’.
Coolios making the scene included celebrity sports agent Rich Paul, Tyrone Edwards, Liv Judd Soye, Jay Strut and Greta Constantine designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong. Other campaign stars from across the country joined in the fun, including Montreal-based stylist Cary Tauben and Vancouver Holt Renfrew customer and campaign star, Tina Dhillon.
Peroni provided cold beers for the guests and Ciroc vodka came on board with a delicious Bellini. Holts Café put the fun in food with an offering of stadium-inspired food including nachos, gourmet popcorn, lobster poutine, mini pogos and an ice cream station. This party was a slam-dunk!
