TRIDEL’S MODEL AT PARFAIT AT ATRIA IS WARM AND SOOTHING LISA VAN DE VEN

-

Designer Stella Salvador doesn’t shy away from colour in the model suite for Parfait at Atria. Vibrant yellow accents are bound to draw eyes, while blocks of blue and wood panelling complement the otherwise neutral palette. “It’s energetic,” says Salvador, principal designer for Tridel. “The colour scheme is mostly uniform, but there are secondary accents.” The space was designed to appeal to young families and urban professionals, integrating a grey backdrop alongside a contemporary design aesthetic. “I wanted to showcase modern urban living,” the designer says. Suites at the Tridel and Dorsay Development site range from 527 to 1,574 square feet and start from the low $ 300,000s. The sales office is located at 2255 Sheppard Ave. E., Unit 120, North York, and open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends and holidays from noon to 6 p.m. Call 416- 645-8866 or visit tridel.com.

1 “It’s a little less formal, more comfortable, and conducive to entertaining,” Salvador says of the living room’s Crate & Barrel sectional sofa. The light grey upholstery ties together the room’s grey palette, while a series of yellow, patterned and neutral accent pillows create some added contrast.

2 Three transparent Gus Modern acrylic blocks are pushed together to create a single coffee table. Sourced from Stylegarage, they feature a faux wood design for texture, but keep views open to the shag carpet. A Form lounge chair by Piero Lissoni adds a sculptural accent.

3 The kitchen cabinets are tinted grey, keeping the colour palette consistent, while flat-front doors and minimal hardware add to the contemporary look. The laminate material was chosen “for durability and maintenance,” says Salvador, who paired the cabinets with floors in a similar grey-brown hue and stainless steel appliances.

4 “It’s a subway tile, but it has something a little extra,” the designer says of this high-gloss white tile backsplash. The tiles feature bevelled edges for what Salvador calls a “3D effect.” “It’s subtle, but it’s a stunning visual,” she adds. Granite countertops complete the look.
