Cosy and blue
VIVID ACCENTS ON NEUTRAL TONES HAVE WIDE-RANGING APPEAL LISA VAN DE VEN
“It’s very cosy,” Tiziana Petrucci says of the model suite at ME2. The director of merchandising, accessories and purchasing at Lastman’s Bad Boy teamed up with developer Lash Group of Companies to furnish the two- bedroom- plus- den unit. Aiming to create a comfortable but contemporary space, she opted for accessible furnishings in light, neutral tones of grey, white and sand — accentuated with vivid blue accents that could appeal to a range of buyers. “Because of the lighting coming in through the windows, it’s very bright, and that actually made our furniture stand out,” she adds. Suites at ME2 range from 402 to 907 square feet and are priced from the mid-$200,000s to the mid-$500,000s. The sales office is located at 1151 Markham Rd., Scarborough, and open Monday to Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. and weekends from noon to 5 p.m. Call 416-430- 0003 or visit meliving.ca.

“Greys are in this year,” Petrucci says, which is why she opted for a largely grey furniture palette. This grey tufted sofa is accompanied by a shag area rug in a lighter shade, while patterned accent pillows match the grey up with the walls’ light sand tone.

Wood accents are used throughout the living area, from the legs of the sofa to this wood-and-glass coffee table. The dining table has a matching design, flanked by grey upholstered chairs, again with wood legs. “It’s open concept, so we tied them all in together,” Petrucci adds.

“Due to space you couldn’t really have a chest, or dresser,” Petrucci says of the guest bedroom, where she introduced a bed with built-in drawers and shelving instead. It’s paired with matching nightstands, all painted white to “make it stand out and make the room brighter,” she explains.

Bright turquoise blue bedding livens up the bedroom, adding dramatic colour that pops against the white bed. It’s picked up again in the room’s artwork and accessories, while for the drapes Petrucci chose something softer: translucent white sheers that she describes as “gentle, not too heavy.”
