A much needed BOOST
Bringing a brighter future to victims of past abuse
What better way to celebrate the start of summer ( and a rare respite from the rain) than with a fabulous outing to the 20th annual Butterfly Ball to benefit BOOST CYAC, held at the Four Seasons Toronto. Co- chairs extraordinaire Vanessa Mulroney and Daniella DeGasperis gathered together some of their closest pals, including honourary chair Suzanne Rogers, Jane Hanrahan, Fernanda Dovigi, Lynda Prince and Tamara Costa for an amazing night.
The crowd caught up with one another over smart cocktails before sitting down to a feast of sea salt and black
pepper- basted beef tenderloin, wilted spinach, sweet potato, yukon anna potatoes and balsamic roasted brussels sprouts with crispy fried onions.
The sold-out event, which was emceed by Ben Mulroney, raises critical funds for BOOST CYAC, enabling the centre to continue to support children and youth who have experienced abuse. Master auctioneer, Brett Sherlock donated his time and started quite the bidding frenzy for the lot which included dinner with The Right Honorable Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and his wife Mila in their Montreal home.
The most poignant moment of the night came when police chief Mark Saunders spoke about the growing s e x- t r affi c king crisis, happening right here in Toronto. “Toronto Police Service is a proud partner of Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre,” stated Saunders. “I am honoured to have been a part of the evening and would like to send my congratulations on such a successful night. Funds raised last night will help to support the critical work Boost CYAC does to support Toronto’s youngest victims of sex trafficking.”
With the help of l ead sponsor Rogers Communcations; platinum sponsor Metrus Properties; and gold sponsors CIBC, Mantella Corporation, Newton Glassman Foundation and TD, a record- breaking $ 850,000 was raised for BOOST CYAC.
