June 27, 2013 — Toronto-born Anthony Bennett became the first Canadian to be selected as the top draft pick in the NBA. He was signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he was joined the following year by Andrew Wiggins, another Canadian selected first overall. Both men were traded to the Timberwolves in 2014 Wiggins still plays for the team, while Bennett has struggled in his career. He now plays in the Turkish Basketball Super League.
