Live near it all in Aurora
Aformer golf course is getting a new identity with Allegro, the Aurora low- rise project by Geranium. And with a property that extends between Yonge and Bathurst streets, it offers access to amenities on both thoroughfares.
“You are in downtown Aurora,” says Stephanie Lane, Geranium’s manager of sales and marketing. “You have all of these established amenities at your doorstep — a combination of both that quaint downtown feel with shops and local retailers, as well as some big box stores that have come in to add that level of convenience.”
The Aurora GO Station is a three- minute drive away, while Highway 404 is a little farther. Sheppard’s Bush Conservation Area is just a five-minute drive away.
50 Steps: “We’re just over 100 acres in total, and half of that is remaining a public park space,” Lane says. The new space still being planned promises a touch of nature. Other parks are situated nearby, including the Aurora Town Park — a 15- minute walk from the site’s Yonge Street access — where there are concerts, music festivals and a farmers’ market.
100 Steps: If you live on the Bathurst side of Allegro, it might be worth your while to take up golf, what with King’s Riding Golf Club located across the street, promising 18 holes within walking distance. King Valley Golf Club and Beacon Hall Golf Club are also nearby.
250 Steps: The Aurora Shopping Centre is just a fourminute walk south of the site. Or travel north instead to take in live music or a local festival at the Aurora Cultural Centre, about a 10-minute walk away.
