Trump, Moore duke it out on Twitter

- SADAF AHSAN

Another day, another Twitter feud — with the U. S. president. This week’s opponent? Michael Moore, who recently wrapped a 12- week, limited engagement run of his oneman show Terms of My Surrender, which included anecdotes and discussion panels about the state of America in “the Trumpian era.”

Unaware the show began with an intentionally limited run, Trump tweeted on Saturday, “While not at all presidential I must point out that the Sloppy Michael Moore Show on Broadway was a TOTAL BOMB and was forced to close. Sad!”

Moore shot back, “You must have my smash hit of a Broadway show confused with your presidency — which IS a total bomb and WILL indeed close early.” He added, in reference to Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, “What’s it like to be Donald Trump today just hours away from the first of many criminal indictments that could send friends and family to jail?”

Moore continued his torrent of tweets, reminding the president how he is “failing” to do his job, also including photos of his audience and joking they were all paid actors, along with one old shot of himself with a smiling Jared Kushner.

In a followup note on Facebook, Moore wrote, “Remember, Trump is not the one who’s easily distracted. He’s the one holding the shiny keys, trying to distract us. Tweeting about me being on Broadway or other things that have nothing to do with getting the power turned back on in Puerto Rico is his strategy to distract the public from his absolute total failure to simply do his f-king job.”
