MERKEL AGREES TO REFUGEE LIMIT
BERLIN Chancellor Angela Merkel clinched a deal with Germany’s second largest political party, including a pledge to cap the number of refugees entering the country, after “turbulent” latenight coalition talks.
After more than 24 hours of discussions, Merkel Friday agreed to a 28- page blueprint for coalition negotiations with the Social Democrats, paving the way for a deal that could save her chancellorship.
Germany took in more than a million migrants in 2015 and 2016.
