Go to the heart of British Columbia’s famed wine country, in the South Okanagan Valley town of Oliver, and you will find Just Kush — a quality cannabis company.

Like the wineries of this famous region, Just Kush is dedicated to nurturing, curing, and packaging only the very best natural products. In this case, the products are premium varieties of Kush cannabis; grown to provide consumers with different levels of CBDs and THCs to meet their varying cannabis needs.

The name Just Kush says it all. Kush is a renowned strain of high-quality cannabis that originated in Afghanistan, northwest India, and northern Pakistan.

“By only focusing on this strain of cannabis, Just Kush is dedicated to growing the best ‘B.C. Bud’ — itself worldrenowned — that money can buy,” said William Rascan. He is President and CEO of Liberty Leaf (LibLeaf ); a Canadian public company that recently acquired a majority interest in Just Kush Enterprises, which is in the final stages of obtaining an Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) licence. It controls a facility that is currently licensed to cultivate medicinal marijuana under the Medical Marijuana Access Regulations (MMAR)-licensed program.

For Just Kush, growing quality cannabis is literally a labour of love. Their new indoor grow operation is nearing completion and is an “attentive nursery.” Inside, Just Kush’s artisanal growers believe in giving each individual plant personal attention to help it thrive and grow to its fullest potential.

“The operation is a hydroponic growing method in which the plants are supported in a clean, airrich environment to keep our plants free from diseasecausing pathogens and harmful contaminants,” says Robert Jackman, PhD, Quality Assurance Manager of Just Kush. “Plants are fed with the highest quality nutrients and microbes that deliver all the nutrients they need to develop a lush growth of leaves and buds.”

The gardeners at Just Kush will visit, examine and turn each plant every day ensuring each one gets exactly what it needs. “We will never rush to harvest as we prefer to wait for peak maturity.”

All this attention results in Kush cannabis plants that “look, smell and taste better than ones grown without special care,” Jackman concludes. “This is proven by the existing MMAR cultivation facility patients who swear by the quality.”

Just Kush will cultivate eight cannabis products to choose from, each one has its own unique qualities, for different usages.

For instance, the popular Rock Star Kush strain “is particularly known for its mild taste and piney aroma, and for its ability to zeroin on the pain and anxiety centres in your brain.

“Besides reducing pain and anxiety it has powerful relaxing qualities that are excellent for reducing your appetite. That means you can enjoy its healing effects without succumbing to the munchies.”

In contrast, “Coma Kush, sometimes known as Crystal Coma is one of those rare sativa hybrids that induces deep relaxation and trancelike experiences,” Jackman explains. “As its name implies, you will enjoy a long- lasting serenity and a welcome quieting of restless mental activity.”

The wondrous qualities of Just Kush’s cannabis products should not distract from the reason why LibLeaf bought this company, which is expanding to its Phase 2, which includes a 20,000-square-foot greenhouse build out.

Canada’s soon- to- be- legal cannabis market is estimated to be worth $6 to 8 billion annually by 2020; when all cannabis products (e.g. leaves, oils, and foods) are taken into account. To put it mildly, this is an unprecedented opportunity for investors.

Just Kush plans to be a big part of this future with growth of their own, with a mission to scale their proprietary craft grow technologies to large-scale production. They believe that, with attention to detail, their small- batch craft cultivation methods can be scaled to reach the demands of the much larger recreational market that will soon be in effect.

This is precisely why LibLeaf bought majority control of Just Kush. It already owns North Road Ventures (North Road) of Greater Vancouver; a legal cannabis product processor and national distributor. Like Just Kush, North Road is in the final stage of obtaining Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations ( ACMPR) licence. ( Under federal direction, ACMPR licences are replacing current MMAR licences.)

“When you put these two acquisitions together, LibLeaf potentially has two licences to produce and distribute cannabis products for both medicinal and recreational use across Canada, when cannabis is expected to be legalized in July 2018,” said Rascan. “For investors who want to get in on the Canadian cannabis market from the outset, our seedto-sale approach underlines LibLeaf ’s strategic mandate and forward-thinking mindset to the legal cannabis industry.”

“It is an honour for LibLeaf to own a majority share in Just Kush, which is to quality cannabis production what B.C.’s famed vineyards are to world- class wine,” Rascan concluded. “We will be producing great results for our customers — and our investors.”
