Re: Trudeau risks repeating the sins of his father, John Ivison; Feb. 8

B. C. is acting like it can make the rules, even on the interprovincial movement of goods, usurping Ottawa’s legitimate role. It cannot.

B.C. should remember it is receiving $6.6 billion cash from the federal government this year, not to mention many other federal activities in the province, and I remember in the 1990s when B.C. received equalization — it was a have- not province. It could happen again. It is sad what happens when you get a little money — one gets a little foggy and forgets whence one came.

Get off your high horse, B.C., and start acting like a mature member of the federation, not like a sulky spoiled child. Brian Peckford, Nanaimo, B. C.

If there’s a soul out there that truly believes Justin Trudeau when he spouts ( pardon the pun) his support of the Kinder Morgan pipeline, he/she must be first in line when Santa visits the mall so that they can convey their Christmas list. It should be evident to everyone else that the PM has no interest in supporting this project.

Want evidence? Consider his passion when the Boeing trade spat with Quebecbased Bombardier came out; he took umbrage that the U.S. company was suing “us.”

In this case, other than tepid rhetoric claiming his support for the pipeline, it’s obvious that his heart isn’t in it. What a disgrace. Jeff Barker, Mississauga
