At 3,277 acres, this is the largest privately owned property in the Bruce Peninsula, says listing agent Gary Taylor of Chestnut Park Real Estate. It has more than 3.7 miles of untouched Georgian Bay waterfront and has the Bruce Peninsula National Park to its north and south. The park includes The Grotto, a large undersea cave carved into the limestone shoreline along Georgian Bay, according to Parks Canada’s website. The cave is a hot tourist destination.

About nine miles of the Bruce Trail run through the property. Taylor says it’s “a major link to the last leg of the trail to Tobermory. The lands are part of the Niagara Escarpment and the designated Bruce Peninsula UNESCO World Biosphere.”

A gated entrance opens on to a 3.7- mile- long private driveway that winds its way through the 6686 Highway 6 property. Its waterfront i ncludes Driftwood Cove, a place where several shipwrecks lie, he says. “It is a stopping point for cruise boat sightseers.” It also includes a large tract of forest in its natural state, as well as inner lakes and waterways.

T he 6, 660 - s quare- f oot main house features highquality workmanship and materials, such as natural oak trim and cherry and maple flooring throughout. It has a large foyer to greet guests comfortably, a spacious traditional dining room gathering space, a large common room with a woodburning fireplace and a loft room with views of the cove.

The 20- room house was built in 1992 and has six-plus bedrooms, three bathrooms, a stone fireplace in the living room, a billiards room and an enclosed sun porch.

The guesthouse has a living room and several bedrooms on upper level. The two- storey stone boathouse has a finished attic and a single slip.

This property has been enjoyed by the same family since 1986. They use it as a retreat and large family and friends’ gatherings have been held there every year, Taylor says. “The owner loved nature and was an avid supporter of the Bruce Peninsula Parks and of the Bruce Trail Association.”

Taylor says the offering of the massive property is “unprecedented and is only limited by your imagination.”
