Asking price for château lakehouse is $3.395M

- Connie Adair

Making this stone-and-timber château lake house“ub er guest friendly” was the top priority for the owner, says listing agent Ross Halloran of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada.

“From my perspective, the best feature of this property is the unrivalled construction and materials used,” Halloran says. “The seller owns a saw mill and has selected the most rare wood finishes and floors for this majestic 6,300-square-foot château.”

Solid wood trim and radiant heated wood floors are featured throughout. The residence has a living room with a timber ceiling that’s 18 feet high and an open-concept post-and-beam French Country kitchen. The 10- ft.- long kitchen island, which has twoin.-thick pine counter tops, is a favourite gathering spot.

Inspired by a 400- year- old château, this Beaver Creek Road home’s design includes French colours and traditional limestone walls, he says.

Guests who come to stay overnight will be impressed by the unique bedroom/ensuite bathroom design. The home was designed so there are no shared walls between the bedrooms for ultimate soundproofing and privacy. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, four of which feature oversized elevated soaking tubs with outside and/or lake views, says Halloran, who has co- listed the property with Roger Kolbuc.

Each of the two upper-level master suites has a 15- ft.high ceiling and a private balcony overlooking the lake. The main- floor master suite has a 20- ft.- high cathedral ceiling.

In addition to the main house, which was built in 2016, the property offers a coachhouse with two bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms. A separate 1,600-sq.-ft. workshop has space on the upper level for a yoga studio or a games room.

The level lot has more than 250 feet of water frontage on Pigeon Lake, the largest lake in the Kawartha and Trent Severn System. A premier bass, muskie and walleye hot spot, Pigeon Lake is a favourite for fishermen. Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn Village are nearby.

The property enjoys a southwest exposure on the lake, which is in the Kawartha and Trent Severn system that links Buckhorn, Big and Small Bald and Chemung lakes above the dam in Buckhorn. The five lakes can be navigated without having to use a lift-lock system.
