FRANCE TO THE MUSIC
The Belle Epoque theme made for a magical night in support of our National Ballet School
There was a touch of French magic at the Carlu as fabulously frocked patrons enjoyed an extravagant Belle Epoque t hemed ball, hosted by the National Ballet School ( NBS). After receiveing a warm welcome and smart cocktails upon arrival, the A- list crowd were treated to gorgeous French- inspired bites. When it was time for the main event in the concert hall, guests took their seats at beautifully decorated tables and enjoyed a scrumptious dinner. The
highlight of the evening was the performance by 29 of the students enrolled in the Professional Ballet Program at the NBS.
Proceeds raised provide financial support for those families who require it. For over 20 years, the NBS annual gala has helped ensure that no student is prevented from attending NBS due to financial circumstances.
“Celebrating creativity and artistry in its truest form at NBS’s annual fundraising gala is a wonderful opportunity to revel in the ways art, such as dance, can continue to surprise, inspire and enrich our lives while enhancing our communities,” enthused co- chair John Baker. “Through supporting the Gala, funds raised will ensure that NBS continues to bring the many benefits of dance to all – from the professional ballet student to the community participant.”
Baker was joined in cochairing the event by his wife Amanda Baker alongside Andrea Stairs and Nini Krishnappa. Such fun was had that no one wanted to part ways at the end of the night, but sadly, all good things must come to an end.
La Belle Epoque Gala plays a crucial role in securing approximately 40 per cent of the school’s annual fundraising goal. It is generously supported by TD Bank Group as Lead Sponsor and Frank and Debbi Sobey as Dinner Supporters.
