PM Freeland?
Re: PM decides his failures don’t matter, John Robson, July 11
It is highly unlikely that Chrystia Freeland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (University-Rosedale), will contribute her thoughts to the escalating controversy over Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s universal, though paradoxically gender-specific, ethical “awakening.” Good soldiers also know when to seek shelter.
Pricked by accusations of hypocrisy and incompetence, the air has begun to escape from her boss’s formerly buoyant leadership balloon. It would not surprise me if Minister Freeland were to be chosen to lead the Liberal Party of Canada following the results of the 2019 federal election.
“Because it’s 2015” may have been Mr. Trudeau’s vacuous reason for appointing women to cabinet, but merit and quality performance will be ample justification for his replacement. Anne Elizabeth Souris, Burnaby, B.C.
