I agree with Conrad Black’s assertion that “gender equality, native rights and wide-ranging ecological questions” should never have been included in the NAFTA negotiations.
These concerns are domestic problems, which should be resolved within Canada.
Also, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should invoke the notwithstanding clause immediately to permit the construction of the Trans Mountain pipeline without further delay.
Furthermore, the NEB guidelines should be amended to allow for the construction of the Energy East pipeline in a timely manner. The economic welfare of Canada is at stake and the sooner the government realizes it the better.
