Re: This is good news?

Rex Murphy, Sept. 8 Underneath Rex Murphy’s undeniably clever humour lies the degree to which government incompetence abounds. Do Canadians really swell with pride in knowing that their country is leading the issue of gender equality in the G7 energy agenda?

What is the minister of natural resources thinking? Given the mismanagement of the Trans Mountain pipeline and ensuing debacle, the need for this portfolio will be questionable and Amarjeet Sohi (along with Justin Trudeau) can return to his former acting career.

I am not alone, surely, in hoping that at least airlines and hospitals continue to use “merit” and “competence” as a basis for hiring pilots and surgeons respectively.

Our government is completely out of touch with the reality that men and women want the freedom to study for a profession of their choosing and to be assessed upon their ability, and not some inane gender balance rule.
