Families sue sperm bank

Seven Canadian families are suing Outreach Health Services, an Ontario sperm bank. They each seek more than $4 million at Ontario Superior Court, alleging Outreach presented Donor 3116 as having no genetic abnormalities. The families allege he has genetic abnormalities, and that, among other things, Outreach failed to screen him and even promoted his sperm after learning his true background. A separate set of suits was filed in 2016 against Outreach and its American owner.
