Head Street has a few homes on it, which makes for a quiet yet quaint feeling, says listing agent Anna Phinney. “The surrounding homes are quite cute, having an authentic smalltown feeling surrounded by the downtown amenities. The area is transitional. Longtime residents are leaving and young families are starting to purchase.”

What makes this home stand apart from the rest? All of the materials used to build it are natural, Phinney says. “The most unique feature is that it was built with all non-toxic materials, even down to the glue the hardwood was laid with.”

Add to that the bright, professionally designed living space and a lot of people were interested in this custom-built home. “We had multiple offers,” she says. It sold in five days for 107 per cent of the asking price.

“Most agents commented on the lovely decor and calming, neutral palette and design choice.” Phinney says her favourite rooms are the kitchen and living space.

“The professional design is shown through the imported light fixtures and scones. The well-designed, open-concept layout makes it easy to entertain and the space has an abundance of natural light in the space.”

It appealed to downsizers as well as young families, she says. “It was a family who was having their first child who purchased it.”

The three-bedroom, four-bathroom board-andbatten home, built in 2015, has a centre island and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, sliding doors in the dining room and a large window and gas fireplace in the main-floor family room.

Primary bedroom features include a walk-in closet and a five-piece ensuite bathroom.

There is an additional bedroom on the lower level, which also offers a recreation room. There is a large storage area under the attached one-car garage.

The 49x55-foot property has a private driveway and even has a picket fence.

Phinney says the neighbourhood, which has a good mix of new custom homes, heritage homes and older homes that are being renovated, is in high demand. It’s within walking distance to the lake, downtown Oakville shops, Kerr Village and the GO station. Multiple parks, including Lakeside Tannery Park and Sixteen Mile Creek, as well as the lake are also nearby.
