Tannehill joins Titans’ COVID list

-

Tennessee Titans starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be placed on the reserve/covid-19 list, general manager Jon Robinson said Thursday.

He is among nine Titans players and coaches who have tested positive or will miss time while in COVID protocols. Also being added to the list are tight end Geoff Swain and linebacker Justin March-lillard.

Head coach Mike Vrabel tested positive for the virus over the weekend. He announced Thursday that special teams coordinator Craig Aukerman has also been affected and likely will miss Saturday night’s pre-season finale vs. Chicago.

While Robinson said Tannehill is “feeling fine,” Tannehill could miss as many as 10 days. Matt Barkley and Logan Woodside will take the snaps in practice.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Isaiah Mckenzie said Thursday that the NFL fined him nearly US$15,000 for violating the rules about wearing masks for unvaccinated players.

Mckenzie and fellow Bills receiver Cole Beasley, who said he was also fined, are subject to additional discipline for repeat violations, NFL Network reported.

The letter says Mckenzie failed to wear a mask at least twice on Wednesday, once while walking through the indoor field house and into the training room, and again while in the meeting area of the weight room.

The Baltimore Ravens are close to trading rookie cornerback Shaun Wade to the New England Patriots, NFL Network reported Thursday.

The Ravens will receive a seventh-round draft pick in 2022 and a fifth-round pick in 2023 in exchange, per The Athletic. Baltimore drafted Wade in the fifth round in 2021 out of Ohio State.
