EBOOK OF THE WEAK

Each week, we scour Amazon’s list of recently published eBooks to find the most outrageous trash-erotica, libellous tell-all, outlandish conspiracy theory and bizarre personal memoir to share with you, our dear readers.

This week’s selection is: For The Love Of English: A Sexy Single Dad Stand Alone Romance A.M. Hargrove; AM Hargrove LLC; 377 pp; $2.94

On the surface, For The Love Of English: A Sexy Single Dad Stand Alone Romance is about a Grade One teacher named Sheridan Monroe who finds herself unwittingly attracted to a bad boy single dad named Beckley Bridges who happens to have a daughter named English in her class. But dig a little deeper, and you’ll find it’s actually about academia learning to accept English literature’s inevitable evolution and the expansion of the Western canon. The hot dad represents a new wave of writers: attractive in style, arrogant in manner and irresistible overall. The teacher is a metaphor for scholastics, and the daughter, English – created by writers, but nurtured by academia – is a symbol for literature.
