Celebrating successful women
Veuve Clicquot recently hosted the 2016 Business Woman Award (BWA) and the 2016 New Generation Award (NGA) in Toronto. co-owner of skoah, and CEO and co-founder of Western Wealth Capital have been selected as the recipients, respectively.
The BWA is now in its 44th year and successfully hosted in 27 countries to celebrate the best in female entrepreneurship. The program endeavours to put the spotlight on women who embody the same business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit and courage that Veuve Clicquot founder, Madame Clicquot, did when she was founding her own very successful brand. In recent years, the New Generation Award, celebrating emerging female talent, between the ages of 25 and 35 years old, has been included to inspire conversations around collaboration and empowerment within the entrepreneurial community for young women.
The selection jury was made up of an esteemed group of entrepreneurs and journalists including
co-president and co-founder, Groupe Germain Hospitalité;
founder and co-chair of the board, Lise Watier Cosmetics; founder Transit Truck Bodies Inc.; senior editor, FASH
so- ION Magazine; and ciety columnist.
“It brings me such joy to see all these women, their families and friends come together from all over the country to celebrate their business success for an evening in Toronto,” said
national Public Relations manager for the Moët-Hennessy Portfolio, Canada. “It is a great way to honour Mme. Clicquot as she was a strong-willed individual who had an ambitious vision for success — something that many women did not have the opportunity to in 1798 — and that is something all these women have!”
