Follow the Pope’s example

- Omar Farooq, Vaughan, Ont. Glen Russell, Ladysmith, B.C. Roger Graves, North Gower, Ont.

As a peaceful and peace-promoting Ahmadi Muslim in our contemporary world with escalated “Muslim” terrorism, I find this step of the Pope towards establishing peace muchneeded. Although I may not represent any large following or community, I feel it is the personal responsibility of all Muslims in the world to realize their duty towards making others around them feel safe and to reach out with a hand of friendship and comfort.

As such, I thank the Pope for showing that even if actions are taken by some who, under political and cultural agendas, mask the true face of religion, i.e. peace, love and unity, we can’t simply turn a blind eye towards the reality. Donald Trump wants to build a wall because he feels his country is threatened by Muslims; then let us Muslims stand united for the safety of our nations that we reside in and show them that this is not about religion, this is a war that is wearing the mask of religion, just as what happened in Rwanda. whether it was the Orangemen or Stephen Harper leading the charge. out by independents within Russia, of whom there are many, in the hope of selling the data to the Russian government. Doubtless they found they had miscalculated and are now feeling the wrath of their government, in a manner similar to that in which one of the leaders of the Russian group that hacked into Yahoo’s database is now in a Moscow jail, as reported in the National Post recently.
