ARTIE LANGE SAYS HE WAS FIRED FROM SHOW; HBO DENIES IT

-

Artie Lange said last week that he had been fired from his recurring role on the HBO series Crashing. But HBO and Judd Apatow, one of the show’s executive producers, said that he had not been let go. Lange, who has waged a public battle against heroin addiction, was arrested this month on charges of possession of drugs, including cocaine and heroin. A storyline in the series depicts Pete Holmes, the show’s creator who also plays a version of himself, trying to keep Lange’s character from relapsing. In an interview with the radio station WOR, Lange told the hosts, Len Berman and Todd Schnitt, that he had been let go. But Apatow, who directed a number of episodes, tweeted a different story. “Artie was not fired from the show,” he wrote.
