As global deals line up, Rickert hits his stride
James Rickert is hitting his stride at a time when his industry is ramping up.
Rickert is senior vicepresident of the infrastructure group at Brookfield Asset Management Inc., a global investment firm that focuses on real estate, renewable power, private equity and infrastructure.
With governments around the world looking to pour billions into fixing crumbling infrastructure, the opportunities are plentiful.
Since joining Brookfield in 2011, Rickert has been involved in more than $10 billion in infrastructure investments, among them a ring road in Chile and a US$6.7-billion consortium deal to take private an Australian port and rail operator, Asciano Ltd.
“I work on most of our large and joint-venture consortium arrangements with institutional investors,” he said.
