Luge: Women’s singles — Alex Gough, Calgary, wins bronze with a combined time of 3:05.644; Kimberley McRae, Calgary, fifth (3:05.878); Brooke Apshkrum, Calgary, 13th (3:07.561). Snowboardi­ng Men’s halfpipe — Derek Livingston, Aurora, Ont., 17th in qualifying — did not advance.

Women’s halfpipe — Mercedes Nicoll, Whistler, B.C., 18th in qualifying with a score of 50.0; Elizabeth Hosking, Longueuil, Que., 19th (25.25); Calynn Irwin, Toronto, 23rd (23.25) — None advanced to the finals. Speed skating: Short Track Men’s 1,000m — Charles Hamelin, Sainte-Julie, Que., qualified first for quarter-finals. Samuel Girard, Ferland-et-Boilleau, Que., won heat, advanced.
