FX’S ATLANTA GETS A THIRD SEASON

-

FX has given Donald Glover a third season of his award-winning comedy Atlanta. The quirky show, which recently concluded its second season and revolves around up-and-coming rapper Paper Boi (Bryan Tyree Henry) and his manager Earn (Glover), doesn’t pull in huge ratings. Its overnight ratings for season two averaged around 700,000 viewers. But it’s a program critics have lathered with praise and fans obsess over each episode. “Atlanta’s phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done,” said Nick Grad, who runs original programming for FX. “Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season. We’re grateful to the producers and our extraordinary cast and crew for achieving this level of excellence, and we share the excitement with our audience about the third season knowing they will continue to take us to unexpected and thrilling places.” It’s unclear when season three will start production.
