Trump's track record

Re: The tinderbox that is American democracy, Rex Murphy, Nov. 3

Rex Murphy notes that in 2016 the Democrats and Hillary Clinton began carping that the election was stolen. Fair enough. But shouldn't Murphy note that Donald Trump did the very same thing? Trump won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote by three million. He was so upset by that he swore that the election was rigged. How could so many people vote against him? He struck a commission that worked for two years to look for fraud and in 2018 it disbanded finding nothing untoward. I realize Murphy is an opinion columnist and thereby entitled to his own view, but he's also obligated to note the facts. Charles Lewis, Toronto
