FIN-T AS TIC FEAT FOR BABY SHARK

-

Children's song Baby Shark is now YouTube's mostwatched video, surpassing Luis Fonsi's track Despacito. The tune became a global phenomenon after it was recorded by then 10-year-old Korean-American singer Hope Segoine for South Korean educational company Pinkfong, and released on the video-sharing site in 2016. As of Monday, it had racked up 7.04 billion views, edging past the original version of Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's 2017 single, which has 7.03 billion. Baby Shark has reached No. 6 in the U.K. singles chart and 32 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The copyright to the song is in the public domain and is not owned by Pinkfong, as it is believed to have its origins in a children's rhyme. However, songwriter Jonathan Wright sued the firm last year, claiming the viral version bore similarities to a take on it he released in 2011. The case has yet to be decided.
