NATURE OF THINGS PUTS FOCUS ON SCREEN TIME FOR KIDS

I scream, you scream we all scream because of kids' screens. The relationship between children and electronic devices has been worrying parents ever since eye first set sight on pixel. Now, a new Nature of Things documentary Kids vs. Screens aims to demystify the phenomenon and determine what we should do about it. “The whole point of this doc is to help parents feel better,” says host and biologist Dan Riskin. “For me, the thing that made screens so scary was not knowing how much damage they might be doing to my kids. But working on this project, I was able to get scientific answers to my questions. The end result was that I felt much more relaxed about the issue, because it didn't seem like a hidden monster any more.” Kids vs. Screens airs Nov. 13 on CBC.
