Road rage ends up in fight

Police search for silver Honda Civic

-

Ottawa police hope a tip from the public can help them find a car they think was involved in a strange and violent road rage incident that began in Orléans last weekend.

Five friends were left with cuts and bruises after the incident, which involved nine people and four cars and began at a stoplight on Innes Road at Tenth Line Road.

Ottawa police believe one of the cars was a 2001-03 silver, four-door Honda Civic and that it may have suffered some damage during the incident.

The incident began at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, when the Honda, with four men inside, stopped at the light and “challenged” a group of seven friends who were inside two separate cars at the same intersection. When the light turned green, the Honda pulled ahead and began braking in front of the other cars.

The group of three cars turned onto Highway 174, exited on Montreal Road and continued on Shefford Road near the Canotek Industrial Park. At that point, the Honda drove ahead, turned around and drove back at the two other cars, striking them. A burgundy SUV arrived at the scene and the occupants of all four vehicles got out and began fighting. Eventually, the people in the SUV and the Civic got in their vehicles and fled.

Police are asking anyone who recognized the Honda or has information about the incident to contact the East Division District Investigation Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 3566 or phone Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS) or toll free 1-800-222-8477.
