Ottawa blogger partners with new Urban Barn store

-

Popular Canadian furniture retailer Urban Barn opened its second Ottawa location in November, in the burgeoning big-box strip on Hazeldean Road straddling Kanata and Stittsville.

In a bit of a twist, the B.C.-based retailer has partnered with Ottawa blogger Loukia Zigoumis (loulousviews.blogspot.ca), who has become the new store’s brand ambassador.

“The partnership with Loukia was a natural fit for us,” Urban Barn president Linda Letts says in an email. “She’s an existing Urban Barn customer at our ByWard Market location. Working with someone who naturally ‘gets’ the brand was really important to us.”

The company also partnered with a local brand ambassador at a store it opened in Oakville, Ont.

“Urban Barn is my type of store — it’s truly my go-to for all the things I need,” says Zigoumis, who also represents WaySpa.com, Shoeme. ca and GoodLife.

Zigoumis will interact with shoppers and home-decor enthusiasts both on social media and in person, including a free in-store holiday style session on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kanata store (space is limited; register in the store).

“I will be showing people tips and tricks on putting together a festive look for the home, from tabletop decor to decorating the tree.”

Urban Barn (urbanbarn.com) offers contemporary and modern furniture, home decor and accessories at more than 40 locations across Canada.

The new store is at Grant Crossing, 5487 Hazeldean Rd. A third location is set to open next spring in Chapman Mills, Letts says.
