Mitchell ‘out and about’ in L.A.
Joni Mitchell has made a rare public appearance at a concert in Los Angeles, over a year after suffering an aneurysm.
In a photo on Mitchell’s official website, the reclusive Canadian folk legend is seen at Saturday’s Chick Corea concert at the Catalina Bar and Grill in Los Angeles.
She’s seated at a table with Corea, as well as Gayle Moran Corea and Herbie Hancock, who is clasping Mitchell’s hand.
Mitchell looks elegant in a widebrimmed black hat, black dress and shawl.
“We are thrilled to see Joni out and about again!” says the website posting.
Mitchell, 72, was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital in March 2015 for what was later revealed to be an aneurysm.
The native of Fort Macleod, Alta., has received eight Grammy Awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 2002. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
