Worker injured falling from roof

A constructi­on worker was seriously injured in Carp Friday morning when he reportedly fell from a roof onto a rock at a job site. Ottawa paramedics responded to calls at a constructi­on site Old Carp Road after calls came in at 10:12 a.m. When paramedics arrived they found the man had fallen about 30 feet from the roof. His condition at the scene was described as critical with severe injuries to his head and spine. Crews stabilized the victim and met with an Ornge air ambulance at Carp Airport for transport to The Ottawa Hospital Trauma Centre. No update on his condition was available. The Ontario Ministry of Labour has launched an investigat­ion into the incident.
