Mixed curling loss for Canada
Team Canada’s unbeaten run at the 2016 World Mixed Curling Championship came to an end Friday morning in quarter-final play at the Sport Palace in Kazan, Russia. Mick Lizmore’s Edmonton rink surrendered two points in the eighth end to fall 6-5 to Scotland’s Cameron Bryce. Lizmore — backed by viceskip Sarah Wilkes, second Brad Thiessen and lead Alison Kotylak — finished the round robin with a 7-0 record and defeated the Czech Republic’s Jakub Bares 6-2 in the round of 16 earlier in the day.
