Cardstock or thin cardboard Approximately two yards (1.8 metres) of extra-wide double-fold bias tape in a neutral colour (I chose grey)

1/4-yard (23-cm) pieces of solid colour fabric in 10 colours (I used red, orange, yellow, light green, dark green, blue, pink, brown, black and white)

Approximately 1/2-yard (45.7 cm) of 1-inch-wide (2.5-cm) stickybacked or heat-set hook-and-loop tape Sewing machine, thread iron
