THE BIG MATCHUP Kyle Turris vs. Taylor Hall

The Senators centre has been one of the club’s top players this season and he needs only one to reach the 20-goal plateau for the third time in his career with Ottawa. The Senators have relied on him to carry the load offensively and he has been solid. As for Hall, dealt to the Devils in the off-season, he’s the club’s leading scorer and has been everything they’ve expected.

THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

1. PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE: This is the second time in less than a week that the Devils and Senators have faced off. Dion Phaneuf broke a scoreless tie at 18:01 of the second period last Thursday in the Sens’ 3-0 win. The Devils don’t want to open up the game and everybody knows the Senators don’t.

2. BACK TO ANDERSON: After making 34 stops in a 6-3 victory over the Leafs Saturday night, Craig Anderson got Sunday off. Coach Guy Boucher said the plan now is to play the veteran goalie more, which means Anderson will likely carry the load the rest of the way, starting with the Devils.

3. ROAD TO THE PLAYOFFS: The Senators have 25 games left and 16 of those will be played away from home. Ottawa has a 15-10-0 record on the road this season, so it has been solid. Getting one early would go a long way in helping the Senators get this four-game trip started on a good note.
