New slate of stars set to rock DWTS stage
What do you get when you mix a couple of former Olympians, a real housewife, a bull rider, a widely disliked Bachelor, a man known for pitying fools and Chris Kattan?
Only the folks behind Dancing With the Stars are brave enough to find out.
The popular ballroom danceoff announced the celebrity cast of its 24th season Wednesday on Good Morning America.
Here’s the full slate of celebs set to shake their tail feathers when DWTS begins March 20 on CTV and ABC (professional partners in brackets):
Bonner Bolton (with Sharna Burgess): A pro bull rider who nearly died after landing headfirst and breaking his neck. He’s now a model.
Charo (with Keo Motsepe): A Spanish-American actress and flamenco guitarist. One of her most recent roles is “dining room guest” on Hell’s Kitchen. You can’t make that up.
Chris Kattan (with Witney Carson): A Saturday Night Live alum — and one half of the infamous Butabi Brothers.
David Ross (with Lindsay Arnold): A former pro baseball catcher, and the first MLBer to compete on DWTS.
Erika Jayne (with Gleb Savchenko): An actress and singer — but you probably know her as herself on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Or maybe you don’t.
Heather Morris (with Maksim Chmerkovskiy): An actress best known for playing the hilarious one-liner blurting Brittany on the musical TV series Glee.
Mr. T (with Kym Herjavec): A former wrestler, A-Team member, actor and all-around tough guy. Don’t be fooled by the gold bling and warrior hairstyle.
Nancy Kerrigan (with Artem Chigvintsev): A two-time Olympic medal-winning figure skater unfortunately known for being attacked with a police baton by a man hired by the ex-husband of her rival Tonya Harding.
Nick Viall (with Peta Murgatroyd): A reality TV regular whose latest stint as The Bachelor apparently isn’t enough to satisfy his thirst for fame.
Normani Kordei (with Valentin Chmerkovskiy): A member of the girl group Fifth Harmony whose existing dance skills may be seen as a conflict of interest.
Rashad Jennings (with Emma Slater): A NFL running back whose free-agent status is coming in handy right about now.
Simone Biles (with Sasha Farber): An American gymnast who won five — five! — medals at last year’s Olympics.
