Luxe travel firm offers Titanic trip
A luxury London-based travel operator is offering a deep-dive cruise exploring the wreck of the liner Titanic. But you’ll need deep pockets to take part. The eight-day excursion, which includes plunging four kilometres in a submarine to the bed of the Atlantic Ocean off Newfoundland, will set back adventureseekers 86,000 pounds, or $142,000. Blue Marble Private said it is working with a U.S. submersibles specialist to take just nine adventure-seekers at a time to visit the famous wreck, beginning in 2018. The RMS Titanic sank in 1912 after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York.
