Walk the Tube maps unveiled
British transport authorities responsible for London’s subway system have produced a new series of maps — urging people to walk instead of riding the Underground. Transport for London unveiled its Walk the Tube maps in an effort to encourage people to use pedestrian routes between stations. They will include the number of steps and the rough time it takes to travel by foot between platforms. The maps were released ahead of a two-day “walking summit” aimed at making the British capital more pedestrian-friendly while reducing car use and promoting a healthier environment, the Evening Standard reported.
