Thanks for a great hockey season, Ottawa Senators

-

Much talk has been made in the media about the lack of sellout Senators games and the “boring” play of our home team. Well, I can tell you from personal experience that this year’s playoff run was anything but boring!

I enjoy watching hockey and go to the occasional game, but I don’t really pay too much attention until the playoffs begin.

So when my husband (a diehard sports fan) asked if I wanted to go see a playoff game between the Sens and the Bruins, I was happy to oblige.

Little did I know then that I would be sucked into a monthlong emotional roller-coaster of waving white towels, late nights and non-stop excitement!

From that point on, I did not want to miss a home game. Now, the budget didn’t always allow for it, but I was fortunate enough to witness Jean-Gabriel Pageau’s four-goal night, and many other nail-biting games from the edge of my seat in the arena.

The energy in the crowd was always outstanding.

The fans that were in attendance, were definitely “all in.” I think my ears are still ringing from Mike Hoffman’s goal on Tuesday night!

So even though it didn’t end the way I would have liked, I want to thank the Senators players from the bottom of my heart for turning me into a hockey fanatic.

It was an amazing run, and one I will not soon forget! Jennifer Reed, Nepean
