Martin known for role in Dallas

Jared Martin, known for playing Steven (Dusty) Farlow on the TV series Dallas, has died at 75. His son told The Hollywood Reporter his father passed away from pancreatic cancer at his home in Philadelphia on Wednesday. Martin’s character on Dallas was supposedly killed in a plane crash, but was a suspect in the shooting of J.R. (Larry Hagman), so the producers brought him back in a wheelchair. Martin also appeared on TV shows including Murder, She Wrote, Magnum, P.I., One Life to Live and The Love Boat. His film resume included Westworld and The Lonely Lady. After retiring from acting, Martin co-founded the non-profit Big Picture Alliance, which brought the world of filmmaking to innercity kids. He also was a painter and photographer.
