Ottawa man delighted by ‘virtually unnoticed’ New-Teeth-in-a-Day transformation

For years, Phil, a high-tech manager, had gum issues that disrupted his busy life.

The 54-year-old even agonized over how much jawbone he had left. “After a year of slowly changing the food I ate, along with the frustrations that came with it, the straw that broke the camel’s back was when I had to get another tooth pulled out.”

Phil simply felt he had a lot of life to live. “I said, ‘forget it, I’m done with losing another tooth.’ I love food too much. I don’t want to be afraid of having a BLT in the morning and worry about biting into a piece of crunchy bacon. This became a no-brainer for me.”

Fortunately, Phil discovered Sedation Dental Group’s revolutionary New-Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, which allows patients to be given a permanent set of teeth in just one surgical visit.

The New-Teeth-in-a-Day procedure involves placing only four implants to permanently secure your new teeth. While some people are eager to save their existing teeth, at the end of the day they discover that there is a lot more maintenance and a lot more pain; it’s rarely successful trying to retain existing teeth.

With New-Teeth-in-a-Day, patients shorten the 18- to 24-month process to install traditional implants down to just a few months, with about half the cost. Without temporary dentures – and fewer surgeries – patients re-establish their quality of life more quickly. Because the new teeth are more natural, they are easier to maintain and to repair down the road if necessary.

Why do some people consider dentures instead? They may think it’s their only option. Many feel that once they have obtained dentures they have solved most of their problems. But dentures are easily misplaced or lost, entailing maintenance costs. They often fall out in the middle of speech or a cough, which tends to be quite embarrassing for many. And several years later, people learn that wearing dentures may cause them to lose both gum and bone. That diminishes support for their dentures, and they are in pain.

As well, it’s important to note that three-quarters of candidates who don’t qualify for traditional implants, DO qualify for New-Teeth-in-a-Day.

Undergoing the New-Teethin-a-Day procedure all about control, and getting your life back. It’s about control of the social life you’ve always wanted, control of your professional life, and control of your nutrition so that you can eat what you need to remain healthy. It’s about focusing on yourself, and what you deserve. It’s about a peaceful mind, body and spirit.

Phil had seen firsthand the issues that arose from poor teeth and gums, and he wanted to avoid the problems that plagued his parents.

“Both of my parents lost their teeth in their mid-30s, and my mother hated her dentures all of her life. I had been visiting a dentist every three months since I was 23 in an effort to fight my periodontal disease and head off the inevitable. I also had orthodontics on three separate occasions, and my teeth were still shifting. Then, after having yet another tooth infected and pulled, I simply said enough was enough. Although the thought of the procedure was a little daunting, my biggest motivator was knowing that I would never have to go to the dentist again!”

Phil found that the team at Sedation Dental Group was “world class.” Sedation Dental Group has looked after more than 300 New-Teeth-in-a-Day procedures, and patients can be confident that the team has the extensive experience for each unique case.

“I’m truly grateful,” said Phil. “The team was wonderful and made the entire process comfortable. I’m incredibly happy with my teeth. And it’s also why I recommended many friends and relatives to see the team at Sedation Dental Group as well.”

Once Phil had completed his New-Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, he was surprised that the people around him took his new appearance for granted.

“The funny thing is that most people did not fully notice,” he said. “The team at the office did such an amazing job at ensuring a natural transition for me. My teeth, on the outside, looked fine, but no one really knew the dental challenge I was facing. So when I had it done, a big part of the value for me was a transition that went virtually unnoticed by others but was completely life-changing for me.”

Sedation Dental Group offers financing options for the New-Teeth-in-a-Day procedure. “Now that we have financing available, the door has opened for many clients who couldn’t access it before,” said Meredith Salvian, clinic manager of Sedation Dental Group. “It’s great that we have this option so that people of all ages, in all walks of life, can get their life back, and their confidence back. I have observed firsthand the pleasure they receive from taking this step.” Sedation Dental Group also offers additional dental and implant options for those looking for alternate procedures.

“It is truly an incredible investment,” said Phil. “You know you need it, but you don’t realize the difference it will make in your life until you do it.”
