Government courts labour with pot jobs
Isn’t it wonderful how socialism simplifies all our problems? What is the question?
It doesn’t matter, since the answer is always to create another government bureaucracy.
On what plane of reality does it make sense for the Ontario government to run another retail business?
The fact that the government plans to run a monopoly marijuana retail business is a clear admission that it cannot run a more efficient business than the private sector. So why is it planning this? The Kathleen Wynne government will spout the usual justifications for safety, but the reality is these plans are designed to secure labour votes for the next election.
Just look at the endorsement by Warren “Smokey” Thomas of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).
If retail access to marijuana needs a government-run business, why is the Ontario government not also running a monopoly pharmacy business as well? Pharmacies sell much more potent and dangerous narcotics every day.
The fact is, there are many ways to ensure control over the sale of potentially dangerous products by private industry.
The only way this proposal makes sense is when you look at it from a politician’s perspective.
The only decision criteria they use is: How does this help me get elected?
Politicians make bad business decisions and socialist politicians make the worst. Keith Dawson, Ottawa
