From flying with the Snowbirds to capturing scenes from the 105th Grey Cup, it’s been an amazing year for me. Some of my favourite images, though, are what I’d call the subtle, quiet moments. The body language between Adam Cohen and his son as they accepted a Juno award on behalf of the late great Leonard Cohen was one such moment. Snowbird 11 Co-ordinator Capt. Paul Faulkner took Ashley Fraser for a flight. Snowbird 10 Coordinato­r Capt. Blake McNaughton was in a second plane flying with Faulkner over Parliament Hill. The Snowbirds were in the Ottawa Gatineau region for the Aero 150 air show.

Sept. 17

The 10th anniversar­y of the 2017 Canada Army Run took place with 5K, 10K and half marathon races. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau participat­ed in the 5K race.

Nov. 19

The 2017 Canadian Folk Music Awards took place in Ottawa. Prior to Fred Penner’s performanc­e at Life of Pie he took a moment for a portrait in front of the Bank Street location.

July 16

Tom Petty, alongside his band The Heartbreak­ers, closed out RBC Bluesfest to a packed crowd.

Nov. 26

Fans didn’t let a little snow stop their excitement for the 2017 Grey Cup at TD Place between the Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts.
