Two suspects sought in violent home invasion on Kemp Drive

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects in a violent home invasion near the Ottawa airport.

On Thursday at about 9:30 p.m., two men, one disguised, forcibly entered a home along the 0-100 block of Kemp Drive.

The intruders, one armed with a handgun, accosted an elderly male who was home alone. One intruder restrained the victim as the second searched the home.

The victim was struck several times with the handgun around the face and suffered minor injuries, but did not require additional medical attention at the time.

The intruders fled with two pieces of jewelry.

Ottawa police said it remains unclear if the home or victim were targeted.

The first suspect is described as possibly Asian, with a long face, clean-shaven, about five-foot-five (165 cm) and tall with a medium build. He was wearing a winter tuque and a light-coloured winter jacket.

The second suspect, whose face was covered with a balaclava, stood around six feet (183 cm) tall and had a slim build.
