Son ChArgED with murDEr oF mothEr

The son of a woman who was found dead in an east Gatineau home two weeks ago has been charged with second-degree murder. Claire Hébert, 58, was found in her apartment on Napoléon Groulx Street in Gatineau on Jan. 30. On Monday, Gatineau police announced they had charged her son, Denis Junior Dompierre, 38. An autopsy showed the victim died of head trauma on Jan. 28, police said. Dompierre had lived with his mother for several months and the two “had a stormy relationship,” police said. Police allege he acted alone. Dompierre was arrested Sunday without resistance. The investigation is continuing.
