Alleged fake Uber driver charged

-

A man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault after police circulated a photo of a suspected fake Uber driver. Ottawa police warned on the weekend that a man appeared to be posing as an Uber driver, and that he was trying to pick up intoxicated women in the ByWard Market. Police said one woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted as the man was driving. The suspect, still posing as an Uber driver, then told her to go to a nearby ATM to pay for the ride in cash, police said. Real Uber drivers are strictly forbidden to accept payment in cash. Hissan Hamad, 37, has been charged with sexual assault in relation to two women.
