ROCK
U.S. indie rockers Cold War Kids are at the top of the bill at this year’s HOPE Volleyball Summerfest, along with B.C.’s electro pop-rockers Yukon Blonde and denim-clad retro rockers Sam Coffey and the Iron Lungs. Also on the bill are a trio of Ottawaarea acts — Eric Eggleston, Alison Rose and Bitter North — who will be first to power up the stage at 11:15 a.m. The music runs until 7 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $20 advance, available at hopehelps.ca, or $27 at the gate. Children 9 and under are admitted free.

Perth’s Stewart Park Music Festival is a gem of the area’s festival season. Children’s shows, a kids’ area, and workshops on meditation, birding and other pastimes are also part of the fun. Go to stewartparkfestival.com.
