Offence F

Let’s check out some offensive stats. One first down in the first half. Time of possession: 22:30. Seventeen of 31 pass attempts completed for 134 yards. Thirty-five yards rushing. Four sacks allowed. A fumble. Three interceptions. When the Redblacks talk about everybody needing to play better, they got that right. Harris had just 93 yards passing. Powell had just 17 yards rushing. Your best players need to be your best players.

Defence D

It wasn’t like the defence gave up huge numbers, but if Mitchell had played the whole game, you can bet this would have been more lopsided. Mitchell completed 16 passes for 166 yards in the first half. Don Jackson rushed 15 times for 102 yards. The defence needed to make a couple of those “big plays” they’ve been talking about, something to change the momentum of a game that went horribly wrong.

Special teams C+

The star of the game for Ottawa was either the rabbit that ran onto the field or punter Richie Leone, who had a huge game, averaging 50.7 yards on a whopping 10 punts. Diontae Spencer, looking to get something going, was stripped of the ball on a punt return. Tim Baines we have a lot of guys in here who are true competitors,” Murray said. “This will fuel us to work harder, prepare with a lot more focus. We’ll be ready for our next challenge.”
