What’s open and closed on Remembranc­e Day

- AMONG THE CITY SERVICES AFFECTED:

With Remembranc­e Day falling on a Sunday this year, the city will observe the holiday on Monday, affecting some city services with schedule changes and road closures.

City hall and all seven of its service centres will be closed, and provincial offences court at Constellat­ion Crescent will be closed Monday in observance of Remembranc­e Day. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday, Nov. 13, city officials said, and the city’s 311 line will be open for urgent matters.

In recognitio­n of the significan­ce of Remembranc­e Day and in accordance with city bylaw, most retail businesses are required to close until 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 11.

There will be no scheduled changes for garbage collection, and curbside containers will be collected on Monday, Nov. 12. The Trail Road waste facility will be open and follow regular business hours.

All City of Ottawa parking regulation­s and restrictio­ns will apply.

OC Transpo will follow a regular Sunday schedule on Nov. 11 and regular weekday schedule on Monday. War veterans who wear their medals and/or uniforms can ride free on OC Transpo, Para Transpo and STO services during National Veterans’ Week, from Nov. 5 to 11, and companions accompanyi­ng veterans also ride free of charge.

The Rideau Centre OC Transpo customer service centre will be open from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., but customer service centres at Lincoln Fields Centre, Place d’Orléans and St.-Laurent Centre will be closed.

Indoor pools and fitness centres will be open with modified schedules at ottawa.ca, while most registered programs at community centres

and arenas will be cancelled. Some exceptions will apply.

Ottawa Public Health sexual health clinics and satellite clinics will be closed on Monday. The Site program office at 179 Clarence St. will be open as usual from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Karsh-Masson Gallery, City Hall Art Gallery and Barbara Ann Scott Gallery at city hall will be open. All other City of Ottawa arts centres, galleries, theatres and museums will be closed. The City of Ottawa Archives Reference Services and Gallery 112 will be closed. All municipal child-care centres will be closed. All branches and services of the Ottawa Public Library will be closed.
